Strong track record in the deep

From a humble beginning in the late 1990s, Eidesvik has developed its subsea capabilities from performing simple inspection, maintenance and repair duties (IMR) to delivering all types of advanced subsea services for worldwide clients – including complex operations in the subsea, umbilical, riser and flow lines (SURF) market.

Our subsea history started in the late 90s with the concept of a multipurpose supply vessel (MPSV) able to perform everything from supply duties to underwater services for our clients. Delivery of the MPSV Viking Poseidon marked the start of our subsea venture, ensuring valuable experience in ROV operations, light intervention work and well stimulation operations. This vessel and her crew expanded Eidesvik’s subsea client base and within years we took delivery of a purpose-built inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) vessel, the Subsea Viking. That was the start of our long and fruitful cooperation with Subsea 7.

Together with our clients, we have delivered our services on some of the main frame agreements on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. From 2007 to 2015, together with our subsea client, we performed under the main survey frame agreement with Equinor – utilizing the purpose-built survey vessel Acergy Viking. This industrial cooperation was further strengthened in 2013 when Subsea 7 and Eidesvik started the work on the main IMR frame agreement for the same end client, Equinor, with the advanced IMR vessel Seven Viking. This frame agreement is still ongoing today and have allowed for our vessels and crew to participate in exciting subsea operations ranging from general IMR duties to intervention work and scale squeeze operations.

Building competence in all types of survey and IMR operations allowed us to enter the advanced SURF (subsea, umbilical, riser and flow lines) market. With the delivery of the SURF vessel Viking Neptun early in 2015, our company had a global enabler – allowing us to deliver our services to multiple clients across disciplines ranging from heavy construction work to laying of flex pipes and umbilicals.

Our experience across the various subsea disciplines are solid and built on our company principle of taking a step at a time and letting our vessel portfolio expand together with the competence of our employees.
